  • Zotero – A free online reference manager that integrates with Google Docs and Microsoft Word. The Nicholas lab has a shared library.
  • Researcher.life – An online platform designed to foster collaboration, networking, and knowledge sharing among researchers from diverse disciplines. Great for searching, and managing research papers.
  • Iris.ai – An AI-powered research tool that assists in discovering and navigating scientific literature efficiently.

Local

  • SoCalFlow Summit – The annual meeting of the Southern California Association for Flow Cytometry it is held annually in April. All Nicholas lab members are expected to attend in some capacity.
  • IFI Fair – The UCI Institute for Immunology annual research symposium. Graduates students are expected to present in poster or oral format.
  • Immunology LA – This annual immunology meeting is every summer (June). Students interested in going may qualify for free lodging. This meeting is optional for Nicholas Lab members
  • La Jolla Immunology Conference – An annual meeting in San Diego for immunologists. It is recommended that trainees attend this meeting once to expand thier network.

National

  • ENDO – The annual meeting of the endocrine society. Trainees are expected to attend and present at either this meeting or AAI each year.
  • AAI – The annual meeting of the endocrine society. Trainees are expected to attend and present at either this meeting or ENDO each year.
  • FASEB conferences – topic specific conferences organized by lead researchers in the field. Trainees should attend one of these meetings as a senior grad student or postdoc.
  • Gordon Research conferences – topic specific conferences organized by lead researches in the field. Trainess should attend one of these meetings as a senior grad student or posdoc

Undergrad

There are many other conferences that may be of interest to students. Depending on the opportunity, funding, and research, trainees may attend a conference they find useful for their development.
